Hello, world — why I started this blog

Notes on shipping in public, building a portfolio, and what I plan to write about here.

· 3 min read

Why another tech blog?

There are thousands of tutorials on the internet already. I'm not adding to the pile to teach React again. I'm writing here for three reasons:

  • To force myself to think clearly. If I can't explain it, I don't understand it.
  • To leave a trail. The decisions I make on side projects today will look strange in six months. Future me deserves the receipts.
  • To meet people. The internet rewards the people who show their work.

What I'll write about

I work on identity, cryptography, and authentication at my day job, and I tinker on side projects in the evenings. So expect posts on:

  • Building a micro-SaaS around my password-obscura npm package.
  • Authentication and identity — WebAuthn, DIDs, post-quantum.
  • Contributing to open-source (specifically Ghost).
  • Honest retros from running side projects on top of a fulltime job.

Subscribe later, read now

The subscription side of this blog is coming. For now, the writing is free and the goal is volume — one post a week, on a Saturday morning, like clockwork. See you in the next one.

Enjoyed this? More posts coming weekly — see the full archive.
